Gallipoli Bazaar - Angel - London

An empire of Gallipoli restaurants line up along Upper Street, in Angel; London.

It's a pretty bold statement to have THREE of the same restaurants all perched proudly on the same road.

There's Cafe Gallipoli, Gallipoli Bazaar and Gallipoli Again; in that very order.

We decided to go to the one in the middle; Gallipoli Bazaar purely because the interior was the most lavish, dark and cosy.

The deep crimson walls, decadent silk sofas, flickering candle light, and dim Moroccan lamps created that lazy, border line seductive atmosphere.

Shish Kebap - Cubes of lamb cooked over charcoal, served with rice and salad

Sea Bass -Fillet of sea bass served with risotto, rocket leaves and a balsamic glaze

One more time...

Yummei yummei ?

Shish Kepab £11.50

I ordered the Shish Kepab, described as cubes of lamb cooked over charcoal, served with rice and salad.

One niggling thing is that I always like to have my shish done medium rare.

You know what I mean right? So it's just pink enough in the middle that you can still see those juices running.

Let's take a moment to visualise that. uhh.

Yeahh... you totally get it.

This shish wasn't medium rare.

It was medium. *HULK SMASH*

That aside, you could taste that char-grilled flavour from the lamb, and the meat was soft and tender.

So, I was still mighty satisfied.

Sea Bass £10.95

 J. had the Sea Bass - Fillet of sea bass served with risotto, rocket leaves and a balsamic glaze

The fish was fresh, and flakey.

So flakey that it melted in your mouth.

And I don't normally like fish.

I was totally converted after this dish.

Next the risotto, lightly seasoned and just sticky enough to make you want more. It was the perfect complement for the sea bass.

Would I return?

All 3 of my guests wanted a piece of my ass that night.

I totally pulled.

If you want to share my luck with the ladies, take her here.

Fellas' if she's not eating out of the palm of your hand afterwards, well... then you only have yourself to blame :P
